Four killed, 25 Hurt as Twin Blasts hit India’s Assam

GUWAHATI: Twin Blasts Rock Assam’s Nalbari District; 4 dead, 25 injured, Two blasts rocked Nalbari district in Lower Assam on Sunday morning, in which four persons have reportedly been killed while another 25 have been injured.

The blasts took place at around 10:15 hours (local time) outside a police station in Nalbari district, police said. The bombs were planted on a parked bicycle, a police official added.

Police suspected militants of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) to have carried out the explosions.

Nalbari district is about 70 km west of Assam’s main city of Guwahati.

Four Killed In US Drone Strike

MIRANSHAH : At least four militants were killed and five others wounded in a US drone missile strike in tribal region near the Afghan border, officials said on Thursday.

The attack took place in Shanakhora village of North Waziristan.

“It was a US drone attack which targeted a militant compound killing four militants and wounding five others,” a senior security official in the area told AFP.

He said two missiles were fired from a US drone.

Another security official confirmed the attack.

Suicide Attack 4 Killed in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A policeman of the four people were killed and five wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a police checkpoint in Peshawar Ring Road, ARY News reported here Thursday.

Liaquat Ali Khan Peshawar CCPO by telephone that the police officer at a checkpoint in the area Patang Chowk – join Peshawar Ring Road and Charsadda Road, noticed a suspicious man aboard a rickshaw stops.

When police tried to verify that the suspect blew up the suicide belt, killing the rickshaw driver, a bystander and a policeman identified as Wahidullah. Two police officers, among five other people were also wounded in the attack, he added.

Police and paramedic teams arrived at the scene of the explosion shortly after the attack, which was cordoned off by the implementing agencies of the law. The dead and wounded were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital where the emergency has been declared.
