Six Killed In US Strike In North Waziristan,Officials

MIRANSHAH: At least six militants were killed in a U.S. missile strike ringing in the village of Norak North Waziristan region near the Afghan border, officials said Thursday.

“It was an attack against a U.S. drone aircraft consisting of a local tribe, Musharraf Gul, Norak village, killing six militants and wounding eight others,” said a senior security official in the area, said.

He said two missiles were launched from U.S. aircraft at 1:30 am (2030 GMT Wednesday).

Another security official confirmed the attack and said that “the Taliban were using the compound.”

“It is unclear whether there was a high-value target,” he said, adding: “We also do not yet know the identity of the militants.”
