Padma Lakshmi Pregnant

Padma Parvati Lakshmi, 39,Lady Rushdie is an Indian American cookbook author, actress, and model. She has been the host of the US reality television program Top Chef since season two. In 2009 she was nominated for an Emmy Award for hosting Top Chef along with Tom Colicchio.

In 17th April  2004, in New York City, Lakshmi married the novelist Salman Rushdie and On July 2, 2007, the couple filed for divorce.

On 1st October 2009, after years of struggling with endometriosis, a condition which causes irregularities in the uterus and has been known to cause infertility, it was publicly confirmed that Lakshmi is pregnant with her first child.The father of Lakshmi’s child has yet to be disclosed.

America’s Page Six Magazine Lakshmi said she is happy that she has gained some baby pounds.

Padma says in the magazine ‘One of the reasons I think I’ve gained weight pretty quickly during my pregnancy is that I’m not exercising as much as I do normally… I can’t. I’m feeling tired, and I have this business to run.

‘You hope that with age, what you pay for in gravity, you gain in gravitas. I’m sure my thighs looked better when I was 25, but I think my mind is better today.’

‘You can eat and work out, or you can be the person who only eats a cucumber every day. I’d get really irritable if all I ate was a cucumber, so I have to work hard.’
