No Stoppage Of Work In Arunachal Even If China Objects,KhanduNEW DELHI: While working on the construction of roads on the borders of Jammu and Kashmir was stopped after China’s objection, the chief minister of Arunachal Doorjee
Khandu said his government would not bow to such pressures.

Khandu said China has no right to oppose the development of infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh, the state is an “integral part of India.”

“The development work did not stop just because someone says that this land belongs to him,” he told reporters yesterday when asked whether his government would work in any infrastructure project if China objects.

“Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. China can not oppose any development of infrastructure in our land. Do not worry about their claims,” Khandu said.

Work on link road at Demchok in the south-east of Ladakh was arrested after the objections raised by the Chinese army.

The incident took place in the village of Demchok on the Indian side of Line of Actual Control, about 300 kms south-east of Leh district headquarters.

The central government has given a package of Rs 24,000 million rupees for development of infrastructure in various locations such as airports and roads in Arunachal Pradesh.
