Natalie Morales In ‘White Collar’
Natalie Morales made a name for herself in the cult hit The Middleman, playing the quirky Middleman in training, Wendy. Now she is playing an FBI Agent, Lauren Cruz in USA’s runaway hit series, White Collar. Natalie recently spoke to MediaBlvd about the new role, the popularity of the series, and the differences between the more serious Lauren, and the fan favorite Wendy that she played before on The Middleman. White Collar air’s its first season finale tonight, December 4, 2009 at 10:00, 9:00 Central on USA Network immediately following the Monk series finale.
Question> There was a female costar, an FBI agent, in the pilot, Diane, and then she mysteriously disappears, and then you appear as Lauren Cruz in the series. Do you happen to know the dynamics there? They got rid of her and then you were sort of her replacement, but I think you play the role much differently than the one who played it in the pilot.
Natalie> Well, it’s not the same role. It’s a completely different role, and I actually don’t know what exactly went on because that was before I sort of … I think I’ve heard Jeff Eastin, the executive producer, sort of explain that there was a scheduling conflict with the actress. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but I know that Lauren Cruz was always intended to be a completely different role from the Diana character.
