Many Naxalites Have Joined Us, Says Mamata

New Delhi: Welcoming the return of a section of Naxalites in mainstream politics, Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee said on Thursday that the change of roles that strengthen the democratic system in the country.
“A section of Naxalites in West Bengal has prevented violence and joined mainstream politics putting their faith in democracy. This is a good sign for the strengthening of democracy in the country,” said Minister of railways, a news agency.
Admitting that many former Naxalites are with the Trinamool Congress, she said they have worked enthusiastically with us for the last Lok Sabha elections.
People like Purnendu Bose, Dola Sen, Pradeep Banerjee and many older Naxalites are more with us and we welcome his return to democratic politics, he said.
“He asked how long these Naxalites are with Trinamool Congress, said,” it all started during the Singur agitation. They came forward and supported us. ”
Trying to differentiate between Naxalites and Maoists, Banerjee said, “Naxalites are Maoist. So do not be confused with the Maoists.”
