Madhu Koda Faces Arrest On Discharge From Hospital

Ranchi: Income Tax detectives on Thursday made it clear that former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda will be stopped as soon as discharged
the hospital.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the IT department have also directed the ARA Weaver Memorial Hospital in Ranchi, where Koda is recovering, not to release him without informing them.

Previously, the IT department Koda sealed house in Ranchi.

The ED also issued a subpoena to Koda and seven of his colleagues in connection with alleged hawala operations.

Koda and his aides have gone to appear before the Nov. 9, 10 and 11.

An ED team had come to Delhi and Ranchi to obtain documents on hawala transactions apparently made by Koda and his associates. It intends to obtain physical evidence and the documents seized by the Department of Income Tax and source of information for records searches and other taxes against Koda.

After witnessing nationwide raids for three days to discover the heritage of former Jharkhand chief minister and his staff on Tuesday Koda had complained of abdominal pain, dizziness and vomiting. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Apollo Hospital in Ranchi.

The IT department has established 6 November as the deadline for six of the alleged collaborators of Koda to appear before it to explain certain transactions and events. They have been told that if they do not appear, will be responsible for legal action.
