Indian Squad For World Cup T20 Annouced by BCCI

Mumbai: Despite a startling performance in the Indian Premier League so far, Mumbai Indians’ Abhishek Nayar couldn’t make it to 15-member squad for the Twenty20 World Cup announced by the BCCI.

The team will be led by Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who had also led a young and energetic team to victory in the inaugural edition of the mega-event two years back.

This year too the BCCI has made sure to compose a young and exuberant team for the tournament, with astounding opener Virender Sehwag and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh being the most senior players in the squad. Sehwag will act deputy to the skipper.

Another spectacular IPL performer, Munaf Patel, too has been left out of the side, thus paving way for RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha.

Robin Uthappa and S Sreesanth too have been kept out of the action.

The Squad:

MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Rohit Sharma, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, RP Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Pragyan Ojha and Irfan Pathan.
