22 Passengers Killed As Bus Falls Into Gorge In Himachal

DHARAMSALA: At least 22 passengers were killed and 48 injured when an overcrowded bus rolled into a ravine near the Haripur in Kangra

district, some 45 km from Dharamsala.

The accident occurred when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle, which was on its way to Dehra of Nagrota Suriyan, and fell into the 100-feet deep gorge, said Police Superintendent Atul Fulzele.

The injured were rushed to the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in Tanda, they said, adding rescue operation is on the death toll is expected to increase.

Senior civil and police officers have rushed to the scene.
